Max is sensitive.
Saffron’s directionless.
Jason’s a legend.
Cork’s a cynic.
Gemma’s a loose cannon.
Nate’s just… there.
And someone’s burned Dickhead’s house down.

A raw and raucous coming of age drama, The Boys on the Bus is another masterwork from multi-award winning playwright, Jamie Hornsby. Gritty and gripping, with a jet-black sense of humour, The Boys on the Bus examines class, identity, despair, masculinity, and the stuff that goes on at 2am in the carpark of the 24 hour bakery.

A sister show/sequel to because there was fire, The Boys on the Bus premiered to critical acclaim on the Central Coast, before moving to ATYP’s Rebel Theatre in August 2023.

Hornsby’s writing is exquisite… His script is a captivating cocktail with a balanced mix of comedy and drama which expertly encapsulates the tumultuous experience that is adolescence. Hornsby delves into the challenges of growing up in the regions, exploring issues of class, identity, and purpose with remarkable candour and authenticity.
